Dear Racers and Fans
Plans are coming together for the third race in the Miss GEICO Triple Crown, Sunday September 7, 2008 in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
Race teams will arrive on Friday, September 5, 2008. This year the dry pit area will be in the Silver Lake Parking lot in the section from Boston west to Baltimore. Friday night is our race parade. This year’s route is longer and better than years past so stock up on candy. The boats will head out of the pit area going east on Arnold Avenue, north on Ocean Avenue, west on Broadway, south on Baltimore then west on Arnold, which will bring us through town, and the Classic Cars Cruise.
Saturday there will be a 9:00am drivers meeting (tba), the pit area will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm. At 10:00am will be the volunteers captains meeting at the Patio Bar at the Wharfside. The town of Point Pleasant Beach is excited about this event. A few of the local fashion houses are planning a fashion and accessory show for the ladies with light refreshments from local caterers and sweet shops from 12noon to 1:30pm at Sensibly Chic, 710 Arnold Avenue. For the children Fired Up Pottery will open their door to let the kids make their own ceramic creations, charge $ 5.00 per child ages 6 and up, under 6 needs a chaperone over 13. Jenkinson’s is our host sponsor and will welcome the racers and families on Saturday, September 6, 2008 7pm to 9pm with a cocktail party.
Sunday, RACE DAY, the crane will be at the Manasquan River Club, 40000 River Road, Point Pleasant from 8:00am. Physicals at 7:30 to 8:45am Jenkinson’s Pavilion followed by a 9:0am Drivers meeting. 12 noon is the start of the first race and 2pm will be starting time for the second race. The best place to view the race is from Jenkinson’s Pavilion. For a VIP tent with catering on the beach contact Toni Potthoff 732 407 4638. Winners Circle will be at the Patio Bar at the Wharfside, Channel Drive, Point Pleasant Beach, following the end of the second race. The awards ceremony will be at 7pm back at the Patio Bar at the Wharfside.
